How to Get Rich Quick in 2025

Never before has the internet been so crowded with people claiming to hold the secret to success and riches. Ironically, most of the people who make these claims who have money only acquired it through convincing everyone else that they could help them get rich i.e. there is no secret. The secret is telling everyone you have a secret…Of course, this is a classic ponzi scheme, but as we scroll through all of the beautiful homes, cars, family vacations, beautiful rich people on our social media feed these schemes start to sound pretty enticing…
As I am reading the gospel of Matthew this morning, I’m reminded that its not just the ponzi scheme that you can fall for…it’s believing that money is the source of your current lack and future joy. Listen to what Jesus tells a rich young ruler who had the equivalent of millions of dollars in the bank (and probably 1.1MM Instagram followers).
16 Just then a man came up to Jesus and asked, “Teacher, what good thing must I do to get eternal life?” 17 “Why do you ask me about what is good?” Jesus replied. “There is only One who is good. If you want to enter life, keep the commandments.”18 “Which ones?” he inquired. Jesus replied, “‘You shall not murder, you shall not commit adultery, you shall not steal, you shall not give false testimony, 19 honor your father and mother,’ and ‘love your neighbor as yourself. 20 “All these I have kept,” the young man said. “What do I still lack?” 21 Jesus answered, “If you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.”
22 When the young man heard this, he went away sad, because he had great wealth. 23 Then Jesus said to his disciples, “Truly I tell you, it is hard for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of heaven. 24 Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of God.”
What does this mean? Should we sell all of our possessions and live in poverty? That is not my interpretation. I think because Jesus truly loves us, He’s telling us a few important truths about money, wealth, and the heart.
Biblical Truths About Money, Wealth, and the Heart
1. Don’t fall for the lie that money will make you happy
Money can buy comfort but never true peace. The world says you need more, but God gives exactly what you need.
“The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.” - Psalm 23:1
“Keep your life free from love of money and be content with what you have, for He has said, ‘I will never leave you nor forsake you.’” - Hebrews 13:5
“Better a little with the fear of the Lord than great wealth with turmoil.” - Proverbs 15:16
If you don’t have it, you don’t need it. God provides perfectly for His people.
2. Your bank account is not a measure of God’s love for you
God has purpose in every circumstance — poverty, stability, or wealth. His love is constant, and His provision is sure.
“The Lord makes poor and makes rich; He brings low and He exalts.” - 1 Samuel 2:7
“I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances... I can do all this through Him who gives me strength.” - Philippians 4:11–13
“And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of His glory in Christ Jesus.” - Philippians 4:19
Whether you have little or much, God is your provider. Trust Him — His love and purpose never change.
3. Chasing money can draw you away from truth and righteousness
Money becomes evil when it replaces God in your heart. Sacrificing righteousness for gain leads to spiritual emptiness.
“For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil.” - 1 Timothy 6:10
“No one can serve two masters... You cannot serve both God and money.” - Matthew 6:24
“What good will it be for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul?” - Matthew 16:26
Money is not the problem — worshipping it is.
4. True peace and joy come from a relationship with Jesus
At our core, what we long for isn’t more possessions but to be fully known and fully loved by God. His Spirit within us satisfies that longing.
“You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy.” - Psalm 16:11
“Whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst.” - John 4:14
“The kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.” - Romans 14:17
True contentment is found only in God’s presence, not in possessions.
